Also called Playa Blanca, Flamingo beach’s beauty surpasses that of other beaches on Costa Rica’s north Pacific coast, with its powder-like white sand and glimmering turquoise water, all lined by lush mangroves and coconut palms. It’s easy to see why Flamingo beach has been drawing visitors from near and far for decades.
The beach is sheltered from the waves that affect most of the west coast here, making it the perfect place to swim in warm lagoons and peek at shy fish swimming among the reefs just offshore.
Despite its beauty, those who come to Flamingo beach are pleasantly surprised to find the sand is never crowded with people. In fact, it’s a very unpopulated area that is perfect for relaxing on the shore, or having fun with the many watersports activities you can do in the bay, including kayaking, snorkelling and Stand Up Paddleboarding.
In the evening, the romantic sunsets that paint the sky above Flamingo beach can be enjoyed as you sit on the warm white sand, or you can opt to take it in on horseback, or as you listen to the flapping of sails as your private sailboat charter glides back toward shore.
